Wow! A blog. I suppose it had to happen that this 50+ year old would start a blog. Of course, being a novice, blogging is going to be something to look forward to, I hope. What to write about? Apparently, blogs are about everything under the sun. And what do I hope to write on this blog? Oh, anything, but primarily movies and other types of entertainment. But movies, primarily...the classics, the not so classics, the B-list movies and the culty ones. And what about those foreign films. And of course those screen legends...including the infamous Ramona and Trixie...glamour from a bygone era. The films to be blogged about are what's on DVD as well as what's playing at the multiplex. I don't know how often one writes in a blog, but learning is half the fun. So, entry number one will be short. Until the next entry and the first movie to be blogged. Ciao!
"As to humans, I've disecc- I've examined hundreds. But until now I've only discovered two who could talk, in my life.
"Where we come from, apes talk- humans are dumb."
What a great undertaking! Just us folks talking about films - the good, the bad and ugly good and bad that remain in our hearts and minds! I'll use this line from "Singing In The Rain" - "I Liked It!", or this one from the same film, "I find it VULGAR!" I thought "Angels" was ok and I didn't see the sequel (do I hafta?) And we can talk about classic movie soundtracks when composers had their own "signature" sound.
ReplyDeleteJust watched "Laura"! Fabulous black and white cinemtography. Gene Tierney is perfect in the lead role. David Raksin's score stays in the mind. I Liked It!
ReplyDeleteAlso watched, "Leave Her To Heaven", another Gene Tierney classic. WHAT an evil character!
ReplyDeleteMade in the forties, it is one of the first gorgeous color films of that era. I'll view it over and over again - with a superb Alfred Newman score. I like it! Also watched "The Giant Claw", and "Creature With The Atom Brain". These films were "foisted on me"! FOIST! FOIST!
